Custom Build Transition Covert

As you should all well know, we now have Transition bikes in the shop, if you are yet to see one in the flesh you should come and take a look, I promise you will not be disappointed!
We have just recently finished speccing and building our first custom build Transition in the form of a Green Covert. We ordered the bike in with a standard Transition all mountain build kit, which included:

• Transitions own brand Revolution AM wheelset
• pretty much a full Truvative finishing kit (bar, stem, chainset, seatpost)
• Full X9 Drivetrain
• Avid Elixir CR brakes
• Maxxis Highroller tires
• Fox VanR fork

Straight out of the box (with the heavy Coil fork) the bike weighed in at 32.2 pounds. which is very respectable for a 6" travel bike.
We decided that we could strip some weight off by changing basic parts of similar values to the originals, we changed:

• The handle bars for a Easton Monkeylite XC low rise carbon bar.
• The brakes for a lighter set of Formula The One brakes.
• Swapped the 203 rotor on the front for a lightweight 180 formula rotor.
• The seatpost for a layback Thompson Elite seatpost.
  With these modifications the bike weighed in at 31.1 pounds. By changing wheelset and fork the bike could easily be made sub 30.
  This Custom build was priced at £3150.00 But all custom builds are priced individually.
